KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
Check the quantity and quality of raw & cooked food products received to ensure that standards are met
Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services to patrons
Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks engaged in food preparation
Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
Ensure that all dishes are cooked well and presented in an aesthetically pleasing way
Monitor equipment quality and order new equipment as needed
Help the restaurant determine how much food and supplies need to be ordered
Train new kitchen staff

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of at least a year experience in a high-volume restaurant
Ability to remain standing for the entire length of shift
Ability to lift stock up to 25-50 pounds occasionally
Enthusiasm in food ingredients and customer service
Attention to detail
Able to thrive in a fast paced environment
Excellent communication skills to communicate operational information
Knowledge of all phases of food production and service, including storage and rotation, food preparation, recipe adherence, plate presentation, and service and production time standards
